to the 2007-2008 Annual Supplement Clarification and Apology Once in a great while I write something that, later on, makes me scratch my head wondering, "How in the world did this ever get past the editor?" A good example is to be found in the brief commentary on Steinway pianos on page 14 of the current Supplement. My intention was to write a slightly irreverent, but basically admiring, summary of the brand and its idiosyncracies. It has come to my attention, however, that some readers may attach meanings to some words that are different from what I intended and erroneously read my comments as a denigration of the brand and an exaggeration of its shortcomings. If so, my apologies, and I refer readers to a better-worded account of Steinway pianos that begins on page 96. |

Corrections The model listing for Yamaha Disklavier grands on page 197 describes the model DGC1B as "playback only". This is incorrect. DGC1B is a Mark III Disklavier with both record and playback capabilities. However, this model does have some limits to its functionality, described on page 38. |
